History
The Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia, the oldest association of foreign Consuls in the United States, encompasses representatives from over 30 countries from around the globe; Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, the Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Finland, France, Federal Republic of Germany, Guatemala, Guinea, Haiti, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Poland, Romania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, The Republic of Sierra Leone, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Members of the organization promote trade, travel, investment and humanitarian assistance between their respective countries and local authorities.
Mission
Members of the Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia are responsible for enhancing and coordinating relations between their respective countries and the greater Philadelphia region.
The mission of the Corps is to promote trade, economy, education, culture and science by educating youth in the Philadelphia region regarding international affairs and promoting international awareness and understanding; improving education, culture and science by strengthening the global community and building partnerships for cultural exchange; enhancing and coordinating relations between Philadelphia and foreign countries.
Working together we are able to strengthen our relations with foreign countries as well as broaden our views of the global community.
We develop access for business and industry, build partnerships for cultural exchange, and assist with information sharing on various issues including disease control and prevention, and educational advancements.
We work with various federal, state and local agencies to provide an economic environment to enhance business opportunities.
